Back in April 2006 Ben Pacey showed me some writing from his time in the Dark Room with Mapping 4D, it consisted of beautiful poetic monologues written to be performed in the woods.
The Dark Room is an amazing project, run by Ed Collier and Paul Warwick, where devising theatre companies are teamed with a writer for a weeks residency at The Hurst in Shopshire.
I was lucky enough to go there with The Other Way Works (which I was then Co -Artistic Director of) in March 2007, to work with Clare Duffy. We had a wonderfully liberating time and I realised that my love of nature and theatre could perhaps be be brought together. Ben and I are planning to develop his initial ideas, using the wooded areas of the park behind my house as a setting. We're going to do a mini performance at dusk through the woods to try put some ideas - fingers crossed for good weather!
